‘Naalu Pennungal’ honored

World famous film maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan's latest film ‘Naalu Pennungal' has been chosen by the Belgian Royal Film Archive for its upcoming festival.

The movie was selected as one of the 20 best films in its world wide selection of quality films marked for authenticity, peculiarity of purpose and novelty of treatment.

All these twenty films including ‘Naalu Pennungal’ will compete for the prestigious L'age d'Or (Golden Age) prize, which is named after the master film after Luis Bunueal, in the festival's 33rd edition this year. The festival will be held in Brussels in July.

'Naalu Pennungal' has already fetched a number of awards and critical applause from many festivals in the international circuit.

Amritha awards for Mammooty, Meera Jasmine

While Laljose film 'Arabikkatha' bagged the award for the best film, Dhakshinamoorthy was selected for a special award for his contribution to Malayalam cinema. The award for the best director gores to shyamaprasad for 'Ore Kadal'.

Another wedding on the cards

The new venture titled 'Kancheepurathe Kalayanam', as the name suggests will be more about a customary Tamil marriage and its associated rituals. Sureshgopi and Mukesh will handle the lead of this film which will also feature two heroines, who are yet to be finalised

Kamal's 'Minnamminni Koottam'

Kamal, following his mastery in naming his films, have tiled his new film with youngsters as 'Minnamminni Koottam'. The movie which features Naren, Jayasurya, and Indrajith in the lead also have Meera Jasmine, Roma and Radhika in the female lead
